Paperino’s West End, the restaurant which has changed the face of dining in Glasgow’s lively student quarter, is about to revolutionise the takeaway experience for the area’s cosmopolitan clientele.
The hot food carry-out section at the busy Byres Road outlet – called Paperino’s To Go – is making pizzas student-friendly as well as offering the best of the fantastic range in the restaurant itself, which emphasises traditional Italian cuisine in a relaxed, neighbourhood setting.
Paperino’s has thrown away the rule-book which says takeaway pizzas should be al taglio – pre-prepared in large trays and reheated in slices, as happens in many other outlets. Instead, each Paperino’s pizza will be freshly prepared in specially-sourced dishes, and cooked from scratch in Paperino’s state-of-the-art pizza ovens.
This means that not only will they be quick to make, they will be tailored to the customers’ desires and more than manageable to eat on the move. To make the students’ night complete, there is a 10% discount – and party-goers who spend more than £25 on their order will receive a range of free extras, such as fresh focaccio bread.
Owners Stefano and Sandro Giovanazzi, who have praised their 45 staff for their contribution to the restaurant’s stunning success, said the team’s renewed focus on the takeaway would further enhance the Paperino’s offering.
Stefano Giovanazzi said: “Our pizzas will be quite unlike anything the student quarter has seen before. And Paperino’s To Go will also be open in the morning to serve first-class coffee, tasty bagels or a full Scottish breakfast in the takeaway’s special dining area.
“We want Paperino’s to be part of the community and this is another step forward in giving our customers fresh, quality food where and when they want it.” Issued by Blueprint Media 0141-353-1515
